In India, the number of people with jobs in agriculture steadily dropped since independence. This trend is getting reversed in the past two years, with steady salaried jobs outside agriculture dropping sharply. There is a reverse migration taking place from urban areas to villages. This rise in farm employment is a dangerous sign for the economy, because it is nothing but disguised unemployment.
